There are days when you are overcome by melancholy and need to reflect on what is really important in life. It was the same with Aquamarine. This piece emerged from a small idea on the Rodes piano, followed by drums, guitar and bass. No samples, everything recorded live and always in one piece. 80 bpm is already a challenge and so this piece of music simply gets a somewhat bulky and at the same time flowing mysticism through the playing. The moment was captured perfectly. Not slick and midi-slick, but pure playing. Simply honest music. Katrin, the woman at my side, loved it immediately and found herself in it. A wonderful example of the possibilities of approaching each other without killing each other. We ALL need peace... always. So Kele is a piece for world peace. Let's give peace a chance

What is SYLPHS about?

The music is like a storm, as it emerges from another piece of mine. Tormenta was the basis for this track, which I then completed with Aki Riihimäki the way I wanted it to be. The air spirits are depicted here in an impressive form, circling around you and lulling you to sleep. They let go and spread their mystical overall context. Aki found the right mixture of sensitive play and speed, which could not be better depicted in such a different way with air spirits. A really successful work.

2016 was a year of great upheaval in my musical endeavours. After Namakua left the band Flordelavida, Birgit and I were left. This piece was created during a studio session in the film studios of Lars Bunse (Indicato.net). Produced, mixed and mastered by me in Andalusia after seven more years. A piece of melancholy, for a time in which a lot of heart music was created. Unfortunately, Birgit and I have parted ways. But I wanted this enchanting piece to be preserved in my sound cosmos.

There have been many versions of Steef Reich's contemporary classic. So I saw this music as an inspiration and an impetus to send my version out into the world. Weaving the individual patterns into a new whole was a challenge that had to be overcome. With the handpan as the basic instrument, I was also able to introduce a certain melodic element. A piece that shows my love for contemporary classic and has since become one of my stylistic elements within my music

Tormenta is the result of a really stormy day, and so it is called storm in Spanish. Without knowing what was going on outside, this piece was created in one go. It is the pure emotion of the moment, expressed through the sounds that were given to me. Intuitive and immediate. A storm that swept through me . So I decided to leave it exactly as it was created. Like our times right now: storms everywhere. A contemporary document.
Recorded in my mountain sound studio in Andalusia, nestled between high mountains and a rugged landscape so rough and unreal and at the same time so beautiful and peaceful. Opposites attract... this is Tormenta the Storm

Heavy Travel is the result of a recording day with Mark Hewins. A sound painter and finder with a wealth of experience. He comes from Margate in England and has played a major role in the sounds of Casio instruments. Even if this is less well known. It's basically the basic tracks that have also been adopted by Roland, Yamaha and Korg. The primordial soup of the modern music world, so to speak. So it's not surprising that nothing normal-sounding comes from the hands of this exceptional guitarist. With slide effects and a marvellous feel for Athmos, I had the opportunity to explore our points of contact with him. A real gift. To play with someone who has toured the world with Lou Reed, Phil Collins and the much-appreciated ‘Gong’ project was absolutely inspiring. In another song (September) he also brings his other side, that of the accomplished jazz guitarist, to the fore. As versatile as a chameleon. A passionate diver (yes, in the sea as well as in the sounds of this world)
